The first day of a technical conference often leaves one feeling broadsided. Combine that with a two hour timezone shift and a poor night’s sleep and you’re ready for a Manhatten.
Halfway back to the hotel, I’ve paused in one of my Midtown favorites: Bryant Park (no, it’s not my photo. NewYorkPanorama.com)–given new meaning now […]
03.20Silverlight
I’m going to be embedding Silverlight content in this journal from time to time. You may need to install/update a Silverlight plugin to view…
03.06MIX08 - Thursday
9:55am — Attended Rob Relyea’s “What’s new in WPF 3.5″ presentation and as expected he talked (and demoed) a lot about the coming “Servicing Release.” Some really excellent questions followed. Rob took a lot of notes, promising followups on his blog. Had a very interesting conversation with Vincent Dumas, Director of Software Development at Xceed […]

Very big day at MIX.
Lots of announcements:

03.04MIX08 - Tuesday
1:55pm – Settled into a rediculously posh suite at the Venetian. Off to find some good food prior to 4pm Registration, then 9pm BlogZone.

Happend upon an O’reilly book release party for their Silverlight 2.0 title. It was a nice […]
Just returned from the annual GIS/CAMA Conference in New Orleans where I was a speaker and my company, CCI, was an exhibitor. CCI launched what is now the industry’s most advanced Computer Aided Mass Assesment (CAMA) solution, RealWare V5, which I first alluded to last December. It’s my first time at this conference and this […]
02.29Blogging from MIX08!
I will be blogging from MIX08 in Las Vegas all next week. This is my first MIX. Really looking forward to it!
After listening toBeth Massi (http://blogs.msdn.com/bethmassi/ ) for a couple hours this evening, I’m almost convinced (regarding VB). Almost. What an engaging presenter!
I still maintain that VB promotes Bad Habits! (like laziness with case sensitivity — which yet again comes back to haunt you when using LINQ to XML!).
I was delighted to see her example showing […]
12.30Windows Live Writer
The Windows Live team has been very busy of late. They’re the hottest part of Microsoft these days. I’ve just installed and am trying out “Windows Live Writer” which supports web log posting. Here are a few icons I’ve created for an application I’m working on (details in February from New Orleans).
Edit: 01-Jan-08, On the […]
[latest update: 2-May-08]
Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF), a new extension to the .Net Framework from Microsoft, provides exciting new possibilities for rich data visualization. Long a fan of this intersection between art and science, I’m beginning a deap dive into WPF.
The company I’m working with currently deals in computer aided mass assesment (CAMA) of real property […]
