About
This is more of a personal journal than a blog (See my first post). A place where I can keep track of—and occasionally share—thoughts, ideas and events in my life. I have an extremely difficult time trying to reconstruct any sort of timeline involving the past (in fact, I am becoming more suspicious that I have some sort of mild form of neurological retrograde amnesia. I have never been able to reconstruct the past nearly as well as anyone I know). This record has already become quiet valuable to me as a memory aid. I keep a more public blog on my occasional artistic pursuits periodically updated at marblemarble.us
I have recently retired from Hewlett-Packard after many enjoyable years working as an R&D Engineer/Scientist/Inventor/Designer in digital imaging hardware design, imaging science and consumer imaging software and user interface design. If you own an HP printer, scanner, camera or All-in-One or a Sony Ericcson or Nokia smartphone, there’s a better-than-even chance you have in your possession, software or hardware for which I play a major roll in design.

After taking some time off, I’m now back working as a software UI/UX architect for a delightfully small software development firm working on tax assessment and collection software for county governments across the USA—certainly in keeping with my historical career seachange every 8 years or so.
This is my personal journal. It has no particular focus. It has no goals. It is my online sandbox and notepad. I’ll do my best to keep the cats out of it.
Thanks for stopping by.
