Ice-free 2009
Today is the first day in 2009 with virtually no ice cover on Long Pond. It is a bit earlier than usually if memory serves. In the morning, if there is no wind, it will all be lightly frozen again. Thus begins the annual two-week dance between water and ice. Watching this is one of the many highlights of Long Pond living.
Definately no “Ice Peel 2009″! Here is 2006 (I think):
