VB Rocks? Debatable. But Beth Massi sure does!
After listening toBeth Massi (http://blogs.msdn.com/bethmassi/ ) for a couple hours this evening, I’m almost convinced (regarding VB). Almost. What an engaging presenter!
I still maintain that VB promotes Bad Habits! (like laziness with case sensitivity — which yet again comes back to haunt you when using LINQ to XML!).
I was delighted to see her example showing [...]
Finished!
This morning–just in time–completed the Zebra Marble desktop card holder for this evening’s gala fund raiser. This is by far the toughest stone I have ever worked! It makes My Yule Marbles seem like carving soap! All for a good cause, though.
Progress…
Now, sanding & polishing. Deadline looms.
Morale-o-Meter
What effects one’s mood? This question is one that has badgered me all my life. Some days I just don’t feel up to the day’s tasks; other day’s I feel I could take on most anything. Early in my career at HP this jostling was bad enough to get in the way of my ability [...]
Fresh Bread for Fifty
At this place where I work there is a tradition: Hot Breakfast on Friday morning for all. After four months of enjoying these weekly feasts, my turn has come. As one of a team of four, I will be bring in still-hot fresh-baked bread. Mixing, needing and rising tonight; portioning and baking tomorrow. This is [...]

Jake Fades
A primary benefit realized from this journal is its role as a sort of ‘audit log’ of life. To that end, keeping track of impactful books read is a perfect fit. My first entry, Jake Fades, came as a recommendation from my good friend and former HP colleague, Tom M. Thanks, Tom.
This frolicsome novel is [...]
Tools! (switching to Google Reader)
Productivity tools can tremendously maximize the utility of PC’s and browsers. I’m beginning to assemble a list of the large collection of productivity tools I use daily. Partly to share, but mostly for personal organization: when I rebuild a PC (which I tend to do about every three months), having this list with links will [...]
Happy New Year 2008!
Though definately in the minority, I’m not a big fan of new year’s resolutions, especially since adopting GTD as the nerve center of my life organization. For those who feel compelled to make the annual conscription, here is a good set of guidelines for guilt-free resolutions.
New Year’s is a time of reflection and review….and scheming [...]
