08.19Daily Buzz
Part of my current daily ritual (being a die-hard tech geek and all) is my morning dose of technology & world news. Here are a few feeds that I rarely miss day to day:
- KurzweilAI.net Accelerating Intelligence News hosted by Ray Kurzweil, one of my favorite authors.
(also available as a daily email) - Slashdot: News for nerds. Stuff that matters. The quintessential nerds’ news source. The father of them all and by far the best source of bleeding-edge science and technology news.
(also available as a daily email) - Mobuzz.tv. Though recently hit hard with the loss of the much-adored newscaster Karina and the mysterious disappearance of her replacement, Suzan, Mobuzz has long been my number one daily tech news video. We’ll see…
[UPDATE 1OCT07: There's a new hostess! 'Olivia'. And she's not half bad. Maybe there's hope for Mobuzz.] - Reddit.com: whats new online. A good source for what’s new and popular each day.

- Del.icio.us/popular. Popular tags from del.icio.us.

Many other feeds which I visit less frequently cover a wide range of interests. You can see these on the public tabs of my frequently updated protopage rss aggregator: protopage.com/dgennetten. Here, you’ll also be able to instant-message me through my IM aggregator, meebo. Of these, here are a few favorites:
- NOTCOT.org An amazing collection of very creative things. Updated continuously.

- TWIT: This Week in Tech. One of the better tech podcasts. Weekly.

- frog design. A leading strategic and creative consultancy. Worked with them many times over the years.

- PigPog.com. All about being creative.

- Lifehacker.com. A great source for ideas to improve life and personal productivity. A GTD gold mine.

- StevePavlina.com: Personal Development for Smart People. A surprisingly insightful though somewhat self-absorbed blog.

- Singularity Institute blog. ‘an outreach to increase the likelihood that the promise of AI is realized for the benefit of everyone’

Another great source which I rely on is the New York Times—but with a catch: I only read it via the new WPF-powered TimesReader. Try it!
